Version 4.8 brings the new padel star point, rule templates, break point statistics and a fix for doubles statistics.
Sep 26, 2026Star point (Premier Padel / FIP)
The first and second deuce are played with advantage as usual. If the game reaches a third deuce, a single deciding point — the star point — wins the game. The scoreboard shows DEUCE, DEUCE (2) and then STAR POINT, so everyone knows when the deciding point is coming. Repeated deuces are now numbered with every scoring format.
Getting started is simple:
1. Sign in to tennisscore.net and open My Rules.
2. Select "Create a rule", then choose "Padel — Premier Padel / FIP star point" under "Start from a template".
3. Save the rule to receive its 6-character access code, then enter the code in the iPhone app under "Add My Game Rule".
Rule templates
You no longer need to work out every setting yourself. Start from a common format — standard best of 3, match tiebreak, no-ad doubles, Grand Slam best of 5, Fast4, short sets, 8-game pro set, a 10-point tiebreak match or star point — and adjust anything you like before saving.
Break point statistics
The statistics screen now shows Break Points Won and Break Points Saved for each team, for the whole match and for each set. They are also calculated for matches you have already recorded.
Doubles statistics fix
In doubles, unforced errors and double faults by the second player of each team were not counted in Total Points Won, which also affected the serve and return statistics. This is now fixed, and your past matches show the corrected numbers after you update.
Star point rules require Tennis Scoreboard for iOS version 4.8 or later on every device used for the match. The other features in this update are available once you update the app to version 4.8.

Sep 21, 2026Players lets you save your regular players once — name and photo — and pick them straight from the list whenever you set up a new game.
Getting started is simple:
1. Open "Players" from the home screen, or tap a player's name/photo when setting up a match.
2. Tap "+" to add a player: enter a name and, optionally, a photo.
3. Tap a player to select them for your match, or use Edit to update their details or delete a player.
Your saved players stay on your device and carry over automatically if you were already using player history — no setup needed.
Requires Tennis Scoreboard for iOS version 4.6 or later.Create your own scoring format with My Game Rule
Sep 18, 2026Your match, your rules. My Game Rule lets you create a custom scoring format on the Tennis Scoreboard website and use it in the iPhone app.
Choose the match length, advantage format, games per set, tiebreak settings, and deciding-set format to suit the way you play.
Getting started is simple:
1. Sign in to tennisscore.net and open My Rules, or select "Create your own rule" on the Game Rules page.
2. Create and save your rule to receive a permanent 6-character access code.
3. In the iPhone app, open "Add My Game Rule" and enter the code.
Your saved rules stay available in My Rules. You can edit them at any time, then download the rule again in the app using the same code to get the updated settings.
Requires Tennis Scoreboard for iOS version 4.5 or later. You can create and save rules on the website now. If version 4.5 is not yet available in your App Store, please check again once the update is released before adding your rules in the app.

Aug 3, 2026It has been a while since our last update here — the website has been rebuilt from
the ground up, and this is the first release of the new tournament and game pages.
You can see who won. Finished matches now mark the winning line with a check,
instead of leaving you to count the sets yourself.
No more columns of zeros. Sets that were never played are no longer drawn, and
the current-point column only appears while a match is still in progress. On a
best-of-five rule, a match in its first set used to show four empty set columns.
Every match is a link. Match cards are real links now, so opening a match in a
new tab, copying its address, or reaching it with the keyboard all work. Each card
also shows the match date and the court.
Round filters stay in the address bar. Pick a round on a tournament page and the
address updates, so the link can be shared, the page can be reloaded, and the back
button does what you expect.
Built for the phone. On a small screen the games list turns each match into its
own card rather than a table you have to scroll sideways, and player names in
doubles get a line each instead of wrapping mid-word.
For club organisers. The tournament setup screens were reworked with clearer
forms and consistent buttons. Deleting a tournament is now called Archive — the
rounds, games and join codes are all kept, and an archived tournament can be
restored at any time.
Timezone setting added.
